Why I Ride:

One less car on the road means cleaner air for everyone to breathe! I ride to stay fit, escape the stress of the day, think!

About Me:

I work at Specialized and direct advocacy and environmental work for the company. I have been here for over 7 years. I lead efforts in the development and implementation of a global green action plan and integrate it into the Specialized culture and its environment, products, marketing and communication. My heart and soul and passion for riding are channeled promoting bicycling as a healthy, viable form of transportation within the company, the bicycle industry and around the world. Prior to Specialized I worked for Bridgestone Cycle, a bicycle touring company in the Pacific Northwest, was the Bicycle Program Manager for Stanford University and Program Manager for the California Bicycle Safety Network, a grant funded project for the CA Office of Traffic Safety. I serve as a Board Member for the Bikes Belong Coalition, am the new president of the recently developed Bikes Belong Foundation, am pioneering the development of a sub-chapter of the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC) serve on the board of the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) based in New York City. I lived car-free for over 20 years, hitch-hiked cross-country twice in my lifetime, vagabonded through Europe for a year, rode bicycles in Cuba during the Soviet oil embargo and sent old bicycle parts to Haiti as a 10 year board member of a non-profit organization promoting non-motorized transport on a global basis.
