Soooo, I left Long Island this morning heading for the Garden State.  Normally an hour and a half drive...  Of course I hit a bit of traffic on the way, no biggie though it is to be expected.  As I approached Manhattan things got a little fun, no wait not fun pretty much what ever the opposite of fun is.  It seems somewhere on the Specialized trailer it must say "PASS ME REAL FAST, THAN PULL IN FRONT AND SLAM ON YOUR BRAKES".  I wish I knew where it said this as I will promtly remove it.  I do not how many of you have driven with a heavy trailer behind you, but they really do not stop all that quick, so it is quite nerve racking when you have to constantly jam on the brakes.  The hard part is keeping a smile on your face at all times, being you are representing.  After all the hard braking I rolled up on a toll booth to access the Mid-town tunnel.  As I approached there was a police officer standing in the road pointing.  After he did lots of finger pointing, and mouthing "you", I gave him the what me look, and received a quick "YES".  He waved me into a checkpoint where two very large intimadating Officers came to the truck.  One looked into the truck and said "get out of the car son".  Crap...  After hopping out of the vehicle the officer looked even bigger, and one said open the trailer.  So I made my way to the rear of the rig.  As I was un-doing all the lock they were both hoovering over me like they expected me to be some sort of drug mule.  When the door was lowered all the way the scary Officers became little kids, both of them simutaneously saying" WOW look at those bikes, COOL!!!"  That is when my spirits lifted.  They then began to ask about carbon fiber and why it is used, so I gave a mini clinic right there is the middle of the highway.  When I was all done with that they told me to hop back in the truck and they will stop traffic for me to enter back into the toll booths.  Thanks guys!!!

So in my excitment of not being taken down by the man, I missed my turn, and guess where I ended up?  Friggin' downtown Manhattan.  It is no easy task to manuver forty-five feet of vehicle through the bustling streets of Manhattan.  Bobing and weaving through all the delivery vehicles blocking the streets, while others are beeping their horns like there is not tomorrow, and also avoiding the folks shooting in and out of traffic on those little scooters.  Lots going on for sure.  I eventually navigated my way through the city and ended up on the Jeresey turnpike, pheeew.
But, all is good now.  I just finished a ride through the hills around Cedar Grove and Montclair, NJ.  Nothing relieves stress like a little bike ride on a beautiful day.  Doctors should prescribe bike riding more!!!  So at the end of the day I can still say it was a good day.

Happy Days,

Classic man, classic! You should have pulled a super troopers and made the cops get into the trailer and lock them in. Sounds like they weren't playing repeater so they probably wouldn't have fallen for it! Oh well, next time :) Glad you stayed out of the cuffs....for now!
