I'm tired...

I'm tired of fighting about who doped and who didn't dope.
I'm tired of Opertation Puerto.
I'm tired of Valv-Piti
I'm tired of sporting fraud vs. personal mistakes
I'm tired of accusing people without protocol
I'm tired of Olympic Boycots
I'm tired of rule changes for preferred athletes
I'm tired of accusing anyone fast of using dope
I'm tired of not giving people second chances
I'm tired of arbitrary bans at races
I'm tired of ageism
I'm tired of VO2 max comparison
I'm tired of old champions who don't get it today
I'm tired of protestors on stage
I'm tired of DNFs
I'm tired of one hit wonders
I'm tired of amino acids
I'm tired of iron injections
What I'm not tired of is great racing.
I believe in semi-finals and finals.
I believe in race day and game day.
I believe in top 8 to the final top 2 to the show
I believe in trying hard
I believe in breakthrough performances
I believe in the power of belief
I believe in the race of truth
I believe in guts
I believe in new beginnings
I believe in David Millar, Tyson Gay and Dana Tores
I believe that it's time to put up AND shut up.
What I want is to watch each race and see each athlete work their best. I want the UCI, IAAF, FINA, IOC, WADA, and every other federation to set rules and follow them. I'm tired of watching athletes have rules changed on them because race organizers or national federations don't like their behaviour. I'm ready to watch racing and believe in the performances.
This weekend was an awesome display of fantastic racing. The Tour de France started. Chris Macca McCormack went sub 8hrs at Ironman Germany and finished exhausted. Tyson Gay missed the 200m final with a pulled hamstring. Michael Phelps won 5 races at the Olympic trails - so did Katie Hoff. Bernard Legat raced a perfect race to win the 1500. The Wilmbelton final was the best ever accoring to Jonny Mac. What else do you need to know. Athletes work their hardest every day to make themselves better, faster, harder.
