Anna Maria Island Florida Ride

Getting Ready

Ahhh, The Central Gulf Coast of Florida in the summer, a cool 92 degrees today with about a 10 mph sea breeze on Anna Maria Island. It was a bit muggy but since I had been waiting for some time to ride down the island, I decided to wait till about 7:00 in the evening before shoving off. One of the cool things about riding down the island is that most of the posted speed limits are around 25 mph and since many of the vistors dont know where they are going, you find yourself passing cars while crusing down the sholder of the road. I had to be exceptionally carefull watching out for cars pulling out in front of me from side roads and parking areas. I saw several other riders traversing the roads and they all smiled and waived as if to say, " ya, this is cool, I'm cool and you are cool to" etc.  Overall it was a great 15 mile trip that I could have stretched out a bit more but I was getting dehidrated fast sweating like crazy. Sorry I dont have more pictures but if you ever get to Florida, bring your bike and conquer your own Island somewhere here in Paradise.
